Job Title: Site Logistics Manager

Reports To (Job Title): Deputy Project Director (Construction)

Project Location: Muscat, Oman

Job Summary:

The Site Logistics Manager is responsible for overseeing the logistics and supply chain operations at the site construction project. The role involves coordinating the movement of materials, managing inventory, optimizing transportation, and ensuring that goods and resources are delivered efficiently and on time.

Duties & Responsibilities/Deliverables:

  • Supply Chain Management: Coordinate and manage the supply chain activities on-site, including procurement, transportation, and distribution of materials.
  • Inventory Management: Oversee and control the inventory levels to ensure an optimal balance between demand and supply. Implement inventory tracking systems and conduct regular audits.
  • Logistics Planning: Develop and implement logistics plans to support project timelines and goals. Collaborate with other departments to ensure alignment with overall project objectives.
  • Transportation Management: Optimize transportation routes to minimize costs and enhance efficiency. Coordinate with transportation providers to ensure timely delivery of materials.
  • Vendor Management: Work closely with suppliers and vendors to establish and maintain strong relationships. Negotiate contracts and terms to secure favourable conditions for the project.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks in the logistics process and develop strategies to mitigate them. Anticipate and address any issues that may impact the timely delivery of materials.
  • Compliance and Regulations: Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards in logistics and transportation. Stay informed about changes in regulations that may impact operations.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with internal teams, suppliers, and transportation partners. Provide regular updates on logistics activities to project stakeholders.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in logistic management or related field.
  • Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) or Certified in Logistics, Transportation, and Distribution (CLTD) considered and advantage.

Skills & Person Specification:

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Familiarity with Logistic procedures.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other project management tools.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Languages: English proficiency; Arabic and Turkish considered an advantage.
