Reports To (Job Title): QA/QC Manager  

Project Location: Muscat, Oman

Job Summary:

The Project Quality Engineer will work closely with the Quality Manager to develop, implement, and maintain quality systems and processes for the project. The Quality Engineer will be responsible for ensuring that all aspects of the project comply with project requirements, applicable standards, and regulations. The role will involve coordinating with project teams, vendors and subcontractors to ensure that all activities are carried out in accordance with the project quality plan and procedures.

Duties & Responsibilities/Deliverables:

  • Develop and implement quality control procedures and processes to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Conduct regular reviews of existing procedures and recommend improvements.
  • Inspection and Testing: Conduct inspections and tests on raw materials, in-process components, and finished products to verify conformance to specifications.
  • Utilize various testing methods and equipment to assess product quality.
  • Documentation: Maintain detailed records of inspection and testing results.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports documenting non-conformance issues and corrective actions taken.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with design engineers, production teams, and other stakeholders to address quality-related concerns and implement improvements.
  • Supplier Quality Management: Evaluate and assess the quality of materials and components supplied by vendors
  • Continuous Improvement: Proactively identify opportunities for process improvements and quality enhancements.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with industry regulations, standards, and certifications. Stay updated on changes in quality standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Review and approve mechanical procedures, specifications, and drawings to ensure compliance with project requirements, codes, and standards

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, quality management or related field
  • 10+ years of experience in quality assurance and quality control in similar or related field.

Skills & Person Specification:

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications. 
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Experience in leading and supervising a team of surveyors. 
  • Knowledge of relevant health and safety regulations. 
  • Proficient in the use of surveying software and equipment. 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy. 
  • Strong knowledge of surveying techniques and equipment.
