Reports To (Job Title): Administration Manager

Project Location: Muscat, Oman

Job Summary:

The IT Manager will be responsible for planning, implementing, and managing all information technology systems and services for the project. This includes overseeing network infrastructure, cybersecurity, software applications, hardware procurement, and technical support for project staff.

Duties & Responsibilities/Deliverables:

  • Develop and implement an IT strategy aligned with project goals and objectives.
  • Manage the design, implementation, and maintenance of network infrastructure, including connectivity, telecommunications, and data centres.
  • Ensure the security of IT systems and data through the implementation of robust cybersecurity measures, including firewalls, encryption, and access controls.
  • Procure and manage hardware and software resources necessary for project operations, including computers, servers, and construction-specific software applications.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for project staff, resolving issues in a timely manner to minimize downtime.
  • Develop and maintain IT policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with project management and other stakeholders to identify IT requirements and opportunities for optimization.
  • Manage IT budgets and resources effectively, ensuring cost-efficient use of technology resources.
  • Stay current with developments in IT technology and trends, evaluating and recommending new solutions to improve project efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Lead and mentor IT staff assigned to the project, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT management, with demonstrated experience in the construction industry or similar large-scale projects.
  • Proven experience in network infrastructure design and management, including LAN/WAN, wireless networks, and telecommunications.

Skills & Person Specification:

  • Strong knowledge of cybersecurity principles and best practices, with experience implementing security measures in complex IT environments.
  • Experience managing hardware and software procurement, including vendor selection, negotiation, and contract management.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues quickly and effectively.
  • Strong leadership and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage resources, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CCNA, or PMP are desirable
